Breakwell brings a champion approach

The other new caps tonight are Whitchurch centre Jim Mullock and Newport pair James Curgenven and Morgan Sikanen. The Newport duo help to make up a 10-strong representation from the Midlands One club in the starting line-up for the game. Shropshire have also included three players who impressed in the recent Midlands final of the National Under-20 Championship on their replacements' bench. Lock Will Betts and prop Rhun Jones played for North Midlands and prop/hooker Michael Willetts, who is still at Adams Grammar, played for Staffordshire.The RLF North Midlands Championship has again been sponsored by Robinson Low Francis, the national firm of property and construction specialists, and will be contested by the three Domestic Unions that make up the North Midlands RFU.

Defending champions Worcestershire & Herefordshire will begin their title defence against Greater Birmingham at Moseley on May 6 and then host Shropshire at Droitwich on May 13.

The top two teams in the group will contest the final which will be played at Stourbridge's Stourton Park on May 20. All matches kick off at 7.30pm.
