The 15-year-old, who plays off scratch, has come through a series of qualifying tournaments. And a pair of four-over-par rounds of 76 in testing conditions at the regional final at the Forest of Arden yesterday, were enough to seal one of the two spots on offer in the under-16 event. Six-times Major champion Faldo will be hosting the event in one of his first duties after leading the European Ryder Cup team into battle against America at Valhalla. The Faldo Series was set up in 1996 in an attempt to identify and nurture young golfing talent.
