Andy Howell kicked two penalties in the first half and there were tries after the break for Mike Wilcock and Rob Massam but it was not enough.

Market Drayton stayed in the hunt for a top three finish in Midlands Six West (North) as they demolished Wheaton Aston 35-5.

Hooker Stu Williams and winger Mez Burns both bagged a brace of tries while centre also Dave Adams scored. Stand-off Jamie Spencer capped a fine all round performance by converting all five.

Lock Chris Cook was also impressive in a victory that should have been even more comprehensive.

Telford Hornets remain in the thick of the Midlands Five West (North) promotion race following their 17-10 victory away at St Leonards.

All of Hornets points came in the first half, with tries from Pete Jones and Colin Campbell. Stefan Hildred converted both and also kicked a penalty.

Skipper Dave Kerr was eager to highlight the performance of his young players against a strong side.

Highley are still looking for their first win in Midlands Six West (SW) as they went down 15-7 at league leaders Chaddesley Corbett. Clee's clash with Tenbury was postponed.
