The 33-year-old defender, who made a triumphant return to the first team for the vital closing phase of the promotion quest, was given the news by manager Mick McCarthy yesterday.

The details of the offer have yet to be thrashed out but a beaming Craddock said: "The manager has told me there will be something on the table for me at the end of the season so, naturally, I'm delighted about that.

"I feel I have a part to play in the future and that I'm playing as well as I've ever done."

Wolves are desperate to add Premier League know-how and, as only one of two in the squad with experience as a top flight regular with Dave Jones, McCarthy insists Craddock deserves another crack.
