Football-mad Joe Davies is set to have his dreams fulfilled by leading out Football League Championship winners, Wolverhampton Wanderers in their final home match of the season.

The six-year-old, from Welshpool, will lead the side out for the game against Doncaster Rovers at Molineux on Sunday.

With the league title - and Premiership football - tied up already, the game will be played in a party atmosphere, with Wolves picking up the Championship trophy following the game.

Glyn Davies, Joe's dad, said the whole family was looking forward to a great day out.

He said: "There is a coach load of us going from Welshpool as there is strong Wolves support here and we can't wait to cheer on Joe on his big day.

"He is a super lad and deserves to lead the boys out on the final day of the season - it will be a day he will never forget."

Joe is said to be excited at the prospect of getting a kickabout with star players such as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kyel Reid and Welsh international goalkeeper, Wayne Hennessey before the match.

His mum, Diane Davies added: "What a day out for a six-year-old this will be. We are all mad Wolves fans in our house and when Joe got chance to be mascot for the final game of the season we jumped at it."
