Market Drayton Town completed a Midland Alliance dream double with a dominant 2-0 League Cup final win over Boldmere St Michaels at Walsall's Banks's Stadium.
Goals in each half from Stuart Ellis and Duncan Horler last night ensured Drayton experienced fresh delight after already winning the league title.
Manager Simon Line said: "It's a brilliant result and we thoroughly deserved it. This bunch of players have been absolutely superb all season and this win is the icing on the cake.
"In the first half we were terrific. We could have had three or four by half time. And we nearly paid the price for it at the start of the second half – we had a nervy 15 minutes where we allowed them to get into the game but the second goal came at the right time and that really finished them off."
Drayton were imperious in the opening 45 minutes and took the lead after just 10 minutes when Ellis finished coolly from inside the box. After the breakthrough it was all Town with Boldmere struggling to get out of their own half.
Ellis almost doubled the lead when his cushioned volley rolled agonisingly past the post, before fellow winger Nicky Porter saw a 25-yard dipping effort rebound off the crossbar.
The Boldmere goal was leading a charmed life and Town almost got the second when Porter broke the offside trap and rounded the keeper, but the angle was too tight and his shot was cleared off the line.
After the break it looked for a spell as though Drayton could pay for their missed chances as they started sluggishly.
Boldmere began to show their attacking prowess and even had the ball in the net seven minutes into the half, only for it to be chalked off for a foul on Drayton keeper Andy Pryce.
Town were struggling to gain a foothold in an error-strewn half as they failed to get their flying wingers, who had been so effective in the first period, into the game.
But just as it looked as though Boldmere were beginning to gain the upper hand, a move of real quality brought Drayton the killer second goal.
Martyn Davies played in man-of-the-match Ellis who's rasping left foot shot was well saved by Boldmere stopper Adam Jenkins only for Duncan Horler to slot home the rebound.
The goal prompted jubilant scenes in the Drayton dugout as Line and assistant Steve McCormick danced on the pitch as Town began their celebrations.
