Wolves could have four key players from their Championship-winning team available for Sunday's clash against Fulham.
Michael Kightly, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Kevin Foley may be part of the squad after returning to full training, while Jody Craddock should return to work with the main group before the game.
"Jody, Kevin, Kightly and Sylvan all could be back," said boss Mick McCarthy.
"It would be great to have those four back if it happened.
"Kightly came through the reserve game last night which was really good news.
"We'll see how he does now but it's been good to have him back in training.
"Sylvan will train today and Foley trained on Monday and Tuesday.
"Jody could be in training by the end of the week if all goes well.
"Those lads have a chance of being in the squad."
And McCarthy refused to rule out a starting place for Kightly, although the winger is likely to figure from the bench after almost six months out of senior action following hip and foot surgery.
"We'll see how he does," said McCarthy.
Craddock is recovering from a hamstring strain sustained during the international break that kept him out of Saturday's defeat at Blackburn.
Ebanks-Blake and Foley have been out since the opening day defeat against West Ham with respective hamstring and medial knee ligament injuries.
One player who won't make the cut for the weekend is Chris Iwelumo, who suffered slight discomfort after returning to training following the broken bone in his foot.
"Chris trained on Monday but just felt it a bit so he's just easing back a little bit. I don't think he will be available," added the boss.
McCarthy revealed he has already pondered different permutations in his head amid a growing selection dilemma.
