Busby's bid to make Tour
Shropshire professional James Busby is on course to cruise through the first stage of qualifying school in the race to join the world's leading golfers on the European Tour, writes JAMES GARRISON.
Busby remained top of the 88 strong-field at Chart Hills in Kent yesterday after carding a round of 68 to sit alongside his opening 67.
That nine-under-par total left him one shot clear of Matthew Baldwin in second place - with the rest of the field a further five strokes adrift.
The leading 21 players from Chart Hills will progress to the second of three qualifying stages which will be held in Spain in November.
Busby, who is based at The Shropshire Golf Centre in Telford, is playing at one of eight first qualifying round venues which will be held over the next two weeks.
