Global footballing star Ossie Ardiles has been sensationally linked with the vacant Shrewsbury Town's manager's job.

It is understood the CV of the Argentinian has been received by officials at the Prostar Stadium.
But Ardiles, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1978, today played down the story.
He told StarSport: "Someone else may have put my CV in for me but I have not applied for the Shrewsbury job."
Ardiles, who had spells as a player and manager at White Hart Lane and is based in the UK, is known to be keen to seal a return to management.
His last job came with a short stint in charge of Paraguayan club Cerro Porteño in 2008.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s Ardiles had spells in charge of with Swindon, Newcastle and West Bromwich Albion, who he guided to promotion from the current League One into the Championship.
He then moved on to Tottenham where he signed such illustrious stars as Jürgen Klinsmann but was sacked in October 1994.
Ardiles has since held a range of managerial posts around world football, including a spell in charge at Croatia Zagreb.
Glamorous
The popular former midfielder is still revered around the sport for his playing exploits, moving to Spurs after playing a starring role in the World Cup triumph with Argentina - for whom he won 63 caps on home soil.
Ardiles helped Tottenham to two FA Cup victories and one UEFA Cup success.
The link adds a glamorous twist to the search for Paul Simpson's successor.
The rumour mill continues to link former player and manager Graham Turner, who is attempting to sell his shares at Hereford to an emotional homecoming.
Other names linked have been Jim Gannon, Paul Sturrock, Alan Knill and Mark Venus.
It is understood former Bury and Burnley boss Stan Ternant is also be tempted by a return to management.
