Shropshire beat Suffolk in a dramatic bowl-out after a rain affected game at Shrewsbury to move in to the semi-final of the MCCA Knockout trophy - and skipper Ed Foster couldn't be happier.

Speaking after his side's dramatic win in the damp gloom at Shrewsbury last night Foster said: "We are through, but I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get the chance to show off our batting."

Chasing a formidable total of 314 for victory Shropshire were denied by the rain, their innings was curtailed after just seven balls, losing Bridgnorth's Jono Whitney in the process.

Foster added: "It was a good wicket and a fast outfield and were were quietly confident.

"We felt that the total was gettable, we knocked off 400 in 80 overs in the three-day game.

"Now it's Hertfordshire away, hopefully we can win that and get up to Durham for the final."

The last time Shropshire reached the final was in 2003, beating Suffolk in the semi final, only to lose to Cambridgeshire at Lord's.
