Shropshire golfer Oliver Farr has seen his hopes of glory in the British Amateur Championship ended with a matchplay defeat.

Farr, from Ludlow, was beaten 5&4 by Germany's Stephan Jaeger in the last 64 at Muirfield yesterday afternoon.

The Welsh international will now link up with the Shropshire men's team of six for the County Amateur Championship qualifiers at Lingdale Golf Club in Leicestershire on Saturday.
