Wolves' £2.5m new-boy Steven Mouyokolo is out of Saturday's friendly in Belgium as he faces up to the prospect of another week on the sidelines.

The former Hull defender is still struggling with the ankle that took a hefty whack two weeks ago and has kept him out of the first two friendlies and now the warm-up game against Charleroi.

It means Mouyokolo will be out with fellow French defender Ronald Zubar, who strained ankle ligaments in the opening 3-0 win at Bohemians on Saturday.

But boss Mick McCarthy said neither player's injury was serious.

"Steven has settled down," said the Wolves chief.

"He was a lot better yesterday. He won't be going to Belgium but I'd hope he might be back involved in training next week.

"He got a nasty kick which settled down quickly but it turned out to be worse than it was."

McCarthy added: "Ronald will be alright. He's not going to be long term.

"He's strained his ligaments but he'll be OK and he's feeling a lot better."

Pipeline

Two of the players the club is looking to move on, Andy Keogh and Matt Hill, didn't feature in last night's 4-0 win at Walsall.

But McCarthy was merely looking at other options and said there is nothing in the pipeline as he seeks to sell before he can bring in St Etienne midfielder Guirane N'Daw.

"I've been linked with a lot of players we were linked with Stephen Hunt for months and look what happened there!" he said.

"But there's no news on anyone at the moment.

"Andy played all the game on Saturday. He trained yesterday but I just didn't need him last night.

"We know what Matt Hill is about and I just wanted to give Scott Malone a game."

McCarthy remained guarded on the prospect of more signings.

"I don't know if we'll get anyone else in," he said. "Somebody will have to go before we get anyone else in"
