Chairman Lee Carter is urging fans to turn out in force when AFC Telford United make their debut in the Supporters Direct Cup.

The Bucks are hosting the competition on Saturday, with FC United of Manchester the opposition (1.30pm).

Fans are also getting two for the price of one, with entry including a second match, between Merthyr Town and Scarborough Athletic, for the Supporters Direct Shield (4.30pm).

"We were invited to take part by Supporters Direct and the original concept was that it was going to be a competition involving four clubs," Carter revealed.

Exciting day

"Logistical difficulties made that impossible, but we now have an exciting day lined up with two competitions taking place."

Segregation will be in force at the match, with Telford fans getting the Sir Stephen Roberts and David Hutchison Stands, the FC United fans housed in the Frank Nagington Stand and the Merthyr and Scarborough followers on the Jack Bentley Terrace.

Supporters Direct will be represented by their chairman, Dame Pauline Green.

"FC United are bringing up to 400 and I know Merthyr are bringing two coaches," added Carter.
