A classic design has been unveiled for this season's new Shrewsbury Town kit to mark the 125th anniversary of the club.

Home and away kits for the 2010/11 season were modelled by players at a fashion show at the club's Greenhous Meadow stadium last night.

Tom Bradshaw, Chris Bright, Jon Taylor, Danny Taylor, Harry Hooman and Jake Robinson modelled the kits along with three members of staff.

Training gear created by kit makers Joma was also unveiled during the show in the Sovereign Suite at the ground.

Shrewsbury-based indie covers band Hello Cleveland also donned the kit and came out to perform a set which included its version of Catch Us If you Can, the song played near the start of Town matches

Ian Bebbington, commercial and operations manager, said the event was attended by about 150 people. He added: "It was a mixture of old and young people which was an excellent turnout. It was a huge success.

"You are always a little bit nervous because we're not fashion show people, we run a football club but you get through it and the players put on a really good show.

"They were very professional in their attitude. We did a couple of rehearsals and then they were straight into it."

He said he was delighted with the new kit, which is embossed with the club logo on the back and includes the numbers one two and five near the shoulders to mark the 125th anniversary.
