Goalkeeper Daniel Platt is targeting a starting place in the AFC Telford United team - after making a sensational debut off the substitutes' bench.
The 18-year-old came on after just 15 minutes at Vauxhall Motors last night, following regular No 1 Ryan Young's dismissal for handling outside his area.
He went on to prove a safe pair of hands, one stunning save from Vauxhall's Wrexham loanee Obi Anorou the highlight as the Bucks snatched a 1-0 victory.
Boss Andy Sinton is now likely to look for another keeper as cover, with Young suspended for the visit of Blyth Spartans on Saturday, September 4 - but Platt has no intention of accepting a role as second choice.
"It's my place to lose now," said Platt. "At the start of the season it was Youngy's, but now it's mine.
"Hopefully I can step up to the plate, but if not then I am sure he will.
"My kicking wasn't the best last night, but overall I thought I did okay - it's six points from two games and I'm buzzing."
Sinton was full of praise for the teenager, adding: "I will look to bring someone in because we will have no cover when Youngy is suspended, but Daniel did his chances no harm at all."
The victory, secured thanks to Andy Brown's 32nd minute winner, takes the Bucks back to the top of the early Blue Square Bet North table.
And Sinton insisted he was even more satisfied by the character shown last night than he was by the dazzling display in Saturday's 5-0 win over Hyde.
"Credit to our lads - in four days they've put in two contrasting performances which tell me a lot about the squad," said Sinton.
"If you're going to be successful you have to play like we did on Saturday but also come to places like this in adversity and dig deep."
