Defender Danny O'Donnell is set to launch his Shrewsbury Town comeback with a run-out in tonight's reserve team clash away at Accrington Stanley.

The centre-back has missed Town's last six matches, having had to come off in the 1-1 draw with Aldershot last month suffering with a hernia injury.

Signed in the summer after his release from Crewe Alexandra, he started the season as first choice alongside Ian Sharps at the heart of the Town defence.

But he has been forced to watch from the sidelines since the 2-1 defeat at the Carling Cup, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff taking his place and helping Shrewsbury keep four clean sheets in their last five outings.

O'Donnell is set to feature in the Town line-up for the Totesport League division one west clash (7pm) - with Shrewsbury's second string looking to climb the table after two defeats in their first four fixtures.

Meanwhile, Town fans have been urged to snap up their tickets for next Tuesday's short trip to Port Vale in npower League Two.

Town and Vale currently occupy the top two positions in the table and a big crowd is expected.

The match is strictly all-ticket and away fans will not be able to pay for entry on the night.

But Shrewsbury officials are worried that message has not got through - with just 300 tickets sold so far.

"The Port Vale game is all-ticket on police advice and there will be no admission on the night," general manager Jon Harris confirmed.

"We have sold just over 300 so far and I am a bit concerned that some people haven't realised they have to buy their tickets in advance.

"Both sides have had a good start to the season and we need as many people as possible going over there to back us," he added.

"I'd like to think we could take 1,000 fans to this one and I'd urge people to buy their tickets as soon as possible."
