Bridgnorth Town 2 Causeway 1

Bridgnorth capped a perfect week with a third successive victory inside seven days.

The Crown Meadow men followed up an FA Vase success over Eccleshall and a 6-1 Midland Alliance thumping of Wednesfield with another league victory against Causeway.

The hosts got off to a dream start as they took the lead on three minutes, Robbie Millington firing a volley into the top corner after latching on to a Mike Evans through ball.

That lead was doubled eight minutes before half time when Anwar Olugbon kept his nerve in a one-on-one situation after another assist from Evans.

Causeway pulled a goal back just after the interval when Adam Overton scored from close range from a corner.

The visitors pumped balls into the Bridgnorth box in an attempt to salvage an equaliser, but the home side stood firm and could have extended their lead late on with two good chances for Olugbon.

"It was a really pleasing win," said Bridgnorth boss Lee Mills.

"Causeway were a very physical team but we have hardened up a little bit and matched them."

Defender Andy Hartlebury was given the man-of-the-match award on his debut after arriving from Market Drayton in a bid to get more first team action.

Ellesmere Rangers 2 Coalville 2

Ellesmere held high-flying Coalville to a creditable draw - but manager Matt Burton was left frustrated.

"We would probably have taken a draw before the game but the way it went, we could have got all three points," said Burton.

"We played some really good stuff at times."

Ellesmere got off to the worst possible start when they conceded a goal within the opening minute, a poor backpass from Carl Harris enabling Matt Moore to deflect a clearance from Andy Mulliner into the net.

The lead lasted just 10 minutes before Dan Price curled a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner to bring Ellesmere back level.

The returning Gary Meredith proved a thorn in the Coalville side throughout the afternoon, and was twice denied by fine saves from the visiting goalkeeper.

Ellesmere were rocked again at the start of the second half when Moore grabbed his second five minutes after the interval.

But the home side were not to be denied and secured a deserved point when Kenny Paul prodded home from a long throw midway through the second period.
