And he is excited at the chance of more first-team football with Graham Turner's high-flyers who are, weather permitting, due to head to Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
"I was looking to go out on loan and Shrewsbury popped up and it's the ideal move for me," he said.
"It happened quickly and I'm really pleased with it.
"It's a lot easier to come into a team that is playing well and gelling like Shrewsbury are at the moment.
"Getting games at Rochdale was a great experience and hopefully I can do the same at Shrewsbury.
"It won't be easy getting a place in the team but I just have to work hard.
"I'd never been to Shrewsbury before this but I have really enjoyed the first few days."
Tutte - who was in action for the reserve team derby against Manchester United last Tuesday - was snapped up by Manchester City as an eight-year-old after impre-ssing club scouts.
And, while he has yet to make a competitive appearance for the star-studded club, he was an unused substitute in the FA Cup against Middlesbrough last season and was part of the pre-season tour to America.
"We get quite a few chances to train with the first team and I was with them for three weeks in pre-season," said Tutte.
He also revealed that he hadn't had a chance to discuss his loan move with former Town goalkeeper Joe Hart. "It's a great experience and you learn a lot from the players.
"I'm out of contract at the end of the season so we will see what happens."
