AFC Telford United are pulling out all the stops to get tomorrow's clash with Eastwood on at the New Bucks Head - though the latest band of snow is already disrupting their preparations.

Skipper Shane Killock was unable to make it from his base in Yorkshire for training last night.

And three of the club's south east-based players - Will Salmon, Phil John and Stefan Bailey - were also forced to abandon their journeys.

"They set off at 3pm and by 5pm they'd only got 40 miles," assistant manager Darren Read revealed.

"They were stuck on the M1 so they had to turn around and head home.

"Shane couldn't get in either because of the snow up north, but we still carried on. We've been preparing as if the game was definitely on tomorrow and we know it will be a tough one.

"Eastwood have always been a tough side - they had a stuttering start but they've found some good form now.

"Come the end of the season you'd expect them to be up there challenging for the play-offs and their manager Paul Cox always has his side well organised."

Telford's squad is close to full fitness, though striker Danny Carey-Bertram is definitely unavailable.

He tweaked a muscle in his thigh ahead of last weekend's trip to Harrogate in the FA Trophy and has not yet been able to train.

Right-back Ashley Woolliscroft is back in the Bucks' fold, having completed a loan spell at Hednesford.

And Read believes that regular first team football has done him good.

  • Telford are appealing for volunteers to help clear snow off the pitch.
