Shropshire's rugby aces are facing a win-or-bust showdown with Worcestershire & Herefordshire to keep alive their hopes of North Midlands glory.

Shropshire were edged out 26-24 by Greater Birmingham in a thrilling opener to the RLF North Midlands Championship at Moseley.

It means Shropshire must win their remaining group game against Worcestershire & Herefordshire at Telford on May 17 to keep alive their hopes of reaching the final.

But team manager Gordon Wood insists Shropshire - who selected a young side packed with Harper Adams University students - will not give up hope of progressing.

"It was disappointing to lose but the task is now clear we must win and win well at Telford," said Wood.
