Bridgnorth Town are on the hunt for a new manager after former million pound Premier League striker Lee Mills stepped down after one year in charge.

The 40-year-old has resigned his post at the Midland Alliance club after guiding the club to a 15th place finish last season.

Mills, who played for Bradford in the top flight while also having stints with Wolves, Port Vale, Stoke, Manchester City and Telford United, is keen to find another job quickly.

"I have had contact with at least one other club," revealed Mills.

"Nothing is confirmed in any way, shape or form, but I didn't feel it was fair on Bridgnorth to wait for me to be possibly appointed at another club and then resign.

"It gives the club a longer period of time to find someone else."

Mills insisted he had relished his first managerial job.

"I'm grateful to Bridgnorth for giving me my chance and I've enjoyed every single minute of it," he added.

"It's give me a real good grounding and an insight to the challenges on and off the pitch."
