Crusaders have turned to sister club South Wales Scorpions for help with the Championship 1 outfit allowing Aled James, Joe Burke and Dalton Grant to join the them on loan.
Wales international James, 29, who is player performance manager for Wales Rugby League, has played in Super League for Widnes and made 23 appearances for Crusaders when they were in the Championship.
Burke and Grant, both 21, also played for the club at junior level.
Crusaders are also without Australian second rower Hep Cahill, who serves a one-match ban for a late tackle, but captain Clinton Schifcofske returns from a three-match absence.
