An international cricket star will be in action in Shropshire tomorrow.
Wasim Jaffer, who has played 31 Test matches for India, is set to be in the Himley side who head for London Road to take on Shrewsbury in the Birmingham League premier division.
The 33-year-old batsman averages 34 in Test cricket and has also featured in two one-day internationals.
Hopes that a modern day great – Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf – would also be in Shropshire tomorrow have been dashed.
There was a chance that Yousuf, who averages 52 in Tests, would make his Smethwick debut at Wellington.
But his return to the UK – after starting the season with Warwickshire – has been delayed due to visa problems.
He is now due to fly in on Wednesday and could make his Smethwick debut next Saturday . . . at home to Shrewsbury.
