Broseley climbed off the foot of the Marston's Shropshire Premier League with a fine 22-run victory at Ludlow.
The strugglers leapfrogged Newtown at the bottom as a result of some fine batting from Ryan Dobson and a strong team bowling effort.
Broseley looked to be in some trouble at 131-7 but Dobson came in to smash 59 off just 36 balls and help lift the total to 207 all out.
That always looked a stiff target and Ludlow were eventually bowled out for 185.
Martin Murdoch took 4-38 while pro Mohammed Mehboob claimed figures of 3-26.
"We bowled tightly and restricted them which really built the pressure," said skipper Richard Parker. "We should have beaten them at our place near the start of the season so we went there knowing we could do it and we had positive thoughts.
"It's good to have overtaken Newtown and we really don't want to end up with the wooden spoon," he added.
Newtown dropped to last place as a result of their three-wicket defeat at Shelton.
The Mid Wales side could make only 127, Sam Griffiths taking 6-59 to leave their innings in ruins.
Dave Anthony replied with 5-43 in what was a decent effort from the visitors, but an unbeaten 51 from Manrich Kotze steered Shelton to a winning total of 129-7 with plenty of overs to spare.
Allscott are the only other team to still not have taken their points tally into three figures and they slumped to defeat at home to Much Wenlock.
The visitors were bowled out for 190, opener Chase Young having made 65 off just 57 balls to get them off to a flying start.
Allscott might have fancied their chances of chasing that down but familiar batting frailties returned.
Skipper Carl Starling made a fine 64 but sadly for him and the rest of the team only two other players reached double figures as they were bowled out for 139 – James Taylor taking 7-30.
