Determined Quatt are refusing to throw in the towel as they plot a late charge for unlikely glory in the Marston's Shropshire Premier League.
Winning draws for both themselves and season-long leaders Reman Services mean Quatt trail their rivals by 30 points with three games left.
And, while spokesman Adam Evans concedes the odds are stacked against his team, they have vowed to continue the fight to the end.
"Saturday was a bit disappointing because we had Shelton nine down and one more wicket would have given us eight extra points," said Evans.
"That would have made it interesting but we will keep plugging away.
"Reman are in the box seat and we need them to slip up which they haven't looked like doing all season.
"All we can do is try and win our games and see what happens."
Quatt – who are preparing for a hectic winter during which they will have a new pavilion constructed – were grateful to a run-a-ball 116 from captain Adrian Evans which allowed the hosts to declare on 258-5 inside 45 overs against Shelton.
Paul Davies and James Martindale both made 37 for Shelton, who looked in little danger of defeat until Alex Biddle claimed 4-32 near the end of their innings.
But final pair Ben Chambers and Matt Morris saw off the final three overs to leave Quatt frustrated.
Reman were two wickets short of registering victory over reigning champions Madeley, for whom a losing draw does little for their quest to avoid the drop.
Captain Mal Serplet made 64 and Darren Bullock 50 in the champions-elect's 220-7.
Serplet then took four wickets but Madeley, largely thanks to a determined unbeaten 79 from Chris Dirkin, stood firm to end on 182-8.
Albrighton took a major step towards securing safety as they chased down 238 to notch a home victory over Ludlow.
Steve Cowie was the Albrighton hero with 102 while Mark Bissell contributed 84 invaluable runs as the hosts got home in the 46th over.
Four wickets from Jason Summers had earlier helped restrict Ludlow – whose captain Baden Wilton top scored with 47 – to 237-9.
Worfield and Newport are locked in an intriguing battle for third spot, with the former currently holding an 11 point advantage.
Worfield romped to a six wicket victory over crisis club Broseley, who were skittled for just 145.
Will Cook claimed figures of 5-42 for Worfield, who then cruised home in the 38th over thanks to unbeaten contributions of 42 and 27 from Gareth Lanchbury and Manny Singh.
Newport made light work of their trip to Wem as they ran out eight wicket winners.
Paul Furniss carried his bat for an unbeaten 114 as Newport comfortably chased down 235.
Martin Gaunt's 87 provided the mainstay of Wem's 234-5.
Bomere Heath were frustrated by the rain in their mid-table clash at Much Wenlock.
Ian Gillespie made 74 and Charlie Wigley was unbeaten on 62 when the weather took a turn for the worse after 29 overs of the Bomere innings with the visitors on 158-1.
Five wickets each for Jed Grantham and Chris Stev-ens had earlier ensured Wenlock were dismissed for 268 in the 47th over, captain Chris Lewis (86) and Chase Young (75) sharing in a stand of 175 for the fourth wicket.
Allscott remain in danger of the drop after a rain affected losing draw to Newtown, who are also starring down the relegation barrel.
