Shropshire golfer Scott Drummond is set for a rare outing on the main European Tour next week. Shropshire golfer Scott Drummond is set for a rare outing on the main European Tour next week. The 37-year-old, who was born in Shrewsbury, will compete in the Austrian Open which starts on Thursday. Drummond, who shot to prominence when winning the Volvo PGA Championship in 2004, lost his Tour card last winter and has struggled for starts on both the European and Challenge Tour this year. The outing in Austria will be his first on the European Tour since the Welsh Open in June.

Amongst the entries in Austria are three-time Major champion Padraig Harrington and Tom Lewis, who shot a sparkling 65 on the opening day of this year's Open and officially turned professional yesterday.
