Jet-setting Shropshire golfer Ashley Chesters will be flying the English flag in Venezula next month.
The 22-year-old from Hawkstone Park will team up with Hertfordshire's Sam Claridge to represent England at the Simon Bolivar Cup.
The international amateur team championship event takes place at Caracas County Club from November 2 to 5, with the pair due to fly out on Sunday.
"I usually play hardly any competition golf from September to April so it's nice to have this to look forward to," said Chesters, who was officially named in the nine-man England squad last month.
"I had a lesson with Michael Welch at the weekend and he said I was swinging the club as well as I have done for quite a while." Chesters will also be involved in a England training camp in Spain at the end of November.
