Welshpool athletics prospect Adele Nicoll had a chance to get some tips from the best when meeting top shot putt coach, American Don Babbitt.

Having had the opportunity for a shot master class with top coach Jean-Pierre Egger and Olympic shot putt champion Valerie Adams in the summer, Nicoll was given another amazing coaching chance with one of the leading lights in the sport.

The 15-year-old, a former Oswestry Olympian, has swept all before her with some record breaking throws and got an amazing opportunity when she, and throws coach Andy Brittain, had a shot master session with top coach Babbitt in Loughborough University.

Babbitt is Reese Hoffa and Adam Nelson's coach, the duo being two of America's best shotputters.

Nicolls' winter training is going well and she is looking forward to the upcoming indoor season's competitons.

The Welshpool pupil Brittan have had a formal invitation to compete in the World Indoor Throws Challenge which is held in Växjö, Sweden in March 2012.

Nicoll finished the 2011 outdoor season ranked No 1 in the under-15 UK shot and discus rankings.
