Wolverhampton racecourse is throwing open its doors for free for the whole of January.

It is the fourth year of the initiative and entry to all 10 of the month's meetings will be free of charge.

Officials at Dunstall Park are expecting a bumper crowd of more than 3,000 for the Boxing Day meeting and hope news of the latest Betfair-sponsored ticket offer will boost attendances throughout the following month.

The racecourse – Britain's busiest with more than 100 fixtures in 2012 – was highly commended at the recent Racecourse Association Showcase Awards for its free-entry drive.

Dunstall managing director David Roberts said:?"Despite the difficult conditions that we have all been facing in 2011 the racecourse has had another fantastic year with great attendances.

"We honestly can't thank our guests enough. We hope this January offer goes some way to repaying everyone who attends Wolverhampton racecourse.

"We appreciate that things are always tight after Christmas, so hopefully we can get 2012 off to a great start for everyone."

The offer is valid for the grandstand and visitors can apply for 10 free tickets per fixture.

The dates are: Thursday, January 5; Friday 6; Monday 9; Friday 13; Monday 16; Thursday 19; Friday 20; Monday 23; Friday 27, Monday 30.

To take advantage of the offer race fans can phone 01902 390000; text RACE to 60070; visit www.wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk and select the fixture of your choice or email info@wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk
