St Georges laid down an early-season marker in the Furrows Shropshire Premier Bowls League with an eye-catching victory at Wrockwardine Wood.

The Dragons enjoyed six winners last night and a 21-7 success for Tony Rhodes helped them claim the aggregate triumph.

Matt Ealey's 21-4 success, the biggest individual victor on the opening night, helped Bylet notch a 10-chalk success over Chester Road to earn a share of the points.

Meole Brace were 10-4 winners over Castlefields while Wem USC, strugglers last year, will be happy with their first game as they powered past Ford 11-3.

Archibald Worthington entertain Bowring tonight (6pm) in a delayed game.
