Youth football has received a boost with a three-year sponsorship deal between motoring company Greenhous and Telford and Wrekin Schools' Football Association.
The money will be used to increase resources at the grass roots and improve facilities.
The association was penniless two years ago but now, courtesy of the additional financial backing and the relationship with AFC Telford United, who now host all of the local finals, it continues to go from strength to strength.
Vic Maher, head teacher at Madeley Academy as well as chairman of the Telford and Wrekin Schools' Football Association, is encouraged by the huge rise in participation and standard of play.
His work on the committee, alongside Ladygrove Primary School headteacher Paul Sanderson, has been vital in transforming the organisation's fortunes.
"We established the association four years ago and the number of schools participating in our district competitions increases with each passing year," said Mr Maher.
"It is nice to see girl's participation growing rapidly."
Greenhous, who are also Shrewsbury Town's shirt and stadium sponsor, are renowned for their support of sport within Shropshire and General
Manager Dave Sullivan is delighted about the company's latest sponsorship venture.
"Football is a great sport for young people to be involved in," he said Sullivan.
