Meole Brace School Science College pupil Charlotte Edmunds, 15, has been called up to the Wales Under-17s Women's squad.

Shrewsbury-born England goalkeeper and former Meole Brace pupil Hart is her favourite player and Edmunds is now dreaming of eventually following in his footsteps by representing her country as a senior international.

She will join her Wales team-mates for a training camp at the new St Georges Park in Burton-upon-Trent at the end of the month.

She will be there for a week, training twice a day, and will also play England Women's Under-17s twice in two friendly matches during that time.

The year 11 student qualifies to play for Wales through her late grandfather, is determined to build on this achievement in the coming years.

She was scouted for the Shrewsbury Town's Centre of Excellence at the age of eight and is currently playing her club football for Oswestry-based TNS Ladies.

They are the current holders of the Shropshire Women's Challenge Cup.
