Delighted manager Lee Ebden confirmed that the 34-year old ex-Wigan, Tottenham, Sunderland and Blackburn star will be among his squad for their clash against League One opposition.

Edben, who took over the managerial reins at Greenfields earlier this month, is hoping tonight's appearance will help raise the profile of the club and attract a bigger-than-average crowd.

He said: "Pascal has agreed to come down and play against Notts County. I have used my contacts in the game and he came down to our training game on Saturday and watched the lads.

"He was impressed with what he saw and the lads all had pictures taken with him. They are really excited to be playing alongside a top Premier League player who's also played for France.

"Hopefully, a few people might be interested and come down to watch and they will understand the things that we are trying to do at the club."

Chimbonda, who is currently a free agent, also knows Ebden's assistant manager Chris Hutchings from their time together at Wigan.

He has also represented Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and Doncaster Rovers as well as French sides Bastia and Le Harve in a successful career spanning more than 15 years.

His one French cap came in a 2-0 victory over Denmark just prior to the 2006 World Cup.
