Shrewsbury's James Taylor earns England call

Shrewsbury's James Taylor was today named in England's one-day international side to face Ireland in Malahide.

The 23-year-old former Shrewsbury School pupil was selected in a new-look middle-order.

England handed ODI debuts to Yorkshire batsman Gary Ballance, Hampshire opener Michael Carberry and Warwickshire seamer Boyd Rankin, who has previously played for Ireland.

Irish-born Eoin Morgan was captaining the team against the country of his birth and will lead the side in the forthcoming series against Australia with Alastair Cook rested.
