Shrewsbury Town's newly-formed ladies outfit, West Mercia Reserves, Whitchurch Alport, Ludlow and Bridgnorth Spartans have been re-homed.

Shrewsbury and West Mercia Reserves are in the Staffordshire League, Whitchurch join the Cheshire League while Ludlow go to the Herefordshire & Worcestershire League.

Allscott, Shrewsbury Ladies, West Mercia Ladies and the New Saints all operate in the West Midlands League and the Shropshire Girls League is still running.

Shropshire FA chief executive Roy Waterfield said: "We have a strategic role to play in the development of both the girls and women's game.

"We set up the Women's League 10 years ago but it's never had more than 10 teams in it.

"We've got an active county girls league which is sanctioned by us and we need to engage with their management committee, so we have requested a meeting. We'd like to discuss how we can attract those teams back into the county, as we need to create a greater number of teams to make the competition viable.

"Their divisions can contain up to 10 teams, so they're getting a good 20 games over a season."
