England Women's cricket captain Charlotte Edwards visiting Shropshire schools
Budding Shropshire cricketers are ready to be put through their paces by England Women's captain Charlotte Edwards.
Ashes winner Edwards and former team-mate Beth Morgan will visit a host of schools next week as part of Shropshire Cricket Board's Chance to Shine programmes.
The duo, who are both employed by the Cricket Foundation to promote the women's game, will be present to support and lead coaching sessions and will also be on hand as special guests at the county's Women's and Girls Cricket Committee's inaugural awards night at Worfield on Tuesday.
Their first port of call is St Georges Primary school in Telford on Tuesday, before moving on to Sutherland Co-operative Academy.
On Wednesday they hold sessions at Much Wenlock Primary, Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge Primary and Albrighton Primary.
The women's game has grown in both participation and popularity in recent years, with the recent Ashes series given live television coverage.
England won the multi-format series, which included one Test match along with one day internationals and Twenty20 matches, 12-4 on points.
