The showpiece event, which started in Scotland, will travel through both Whitchurch and Market Drayton, as world-class riders race to the finish line in London.

Gerald Ciolek claimed a dramatic sprint finish to win the second stage yesterday, after he pipped Sam Bennett to the finish line in Kendal to become the new leader.

Sir Bradley Wiggins crossed the line 17 seconds off the lead for Team Sky and is 12th overall. Mark Cavendish finished 47 seconds behind Ciolek.
