Michael Ngoo can be Plan B for Saddlers

Romaine Sawyers today claimed new-boy Michael Ngoo can be Walsall's Plan B in attack.

The 21-year-old striker signed on loan with the Saddlers from Liverpool on deadline day and has spent the past week getting to know his new team-mates.

Fellow forward Sawyers, who has scored seven goals this season, has been impressed by what he described as 6ft 6in Ngoo's "NBA-type" stature and believes he will be a handful for League One defences.

He says Ngoo's height will give the Saddlers another option in attack when they are trying to break down the opposition.

"He brings another dimension," said Sawyers. "If Plan A doesn't work, he can be Plan B. It's good to have different options. He's not your typical targetman - he's got a good first touch and good dribbling ability. I see him more as a dribbler and a link-up man than a targetman.

"But his presence in itself is going to be scary and threatening for the opposition."

Walsall's visit to Peterborough United has been brought forward a day to next Friday (February 14) with a 7.45pm kick-off. This is to accommodate Posh's involvement in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Area final the following Monday.
