The 18-strong party will leave on July 4 for Mori in Italy to play in the European Hockey Championships.

The Oswestry pair will come up against some of the best teams in Europe with sides from Italy, Turkey, France and Austria taking part.

Twins Caro and Lottie, who are still only 16, have been playing senior hockey for Wrexham Glyndwr Hockey Club.

Lottie said "I'm so pleased to take part in this tournament and to play against other countries is a fantastic opportunity for us and it's one that we are really looking forward to."

After winning their first caps for Wales last summer, Caro and Lottie have subsequently represented Wales in the UK School Sports Games in Sheffield.

From there, they have been training with the Wales Under-18 elite squad.

An action-packed year of preparation has seen the squad train regularly as a group and undertake a meticulous competitive programme.

That has brought test matches against Ireland and Scotland, interspersed with a number of training matches along the way.
