Moreton Hall are the pride of the county
The Moreton Hall Under-15 hockey team swept their rivals aside to claim the Under-16 county tournament at Lilleshall.
The talented youngsters clinched glory with a perfect record, winning all five of their games and conceding just one goal in the process.
Moreton powered through the heats, beating Shrewsbury School 3-0, Meole Brace 6-0 and then cruising to a 7-0 victory against Thomas Telford.
A 3-1 success over William Brooks in the sem-final earned them a shot at silverware.
And they duly wrapped up a fine day by securing a hard-fought 1-0 win against Shrewsbury School to be crowned champions.
Moreton now progress to the Midlands Zone finals. Head of Sport, Kate Groves, said: "I am absolutely delighted with the team.
"They showed real determination in attack with some fantastic goals scored. We are looking forward to the Midlands finals."
