Broadway boy stars with his hat-trick

Blake Webb claimed a hat-trick of wins for Broadway Swimming Club at the first Wombourne Junior League Gala of the year.

Webb took victory in the 10-year-old boys' 50 metres freestyle before also winning the nine-year-old 25m butterfly and freestyle races,

Elodie Rollins had earlier opened the gala with a personal best time in the 10-year-old girls' 50m freestyle, while Robyn Dolan seized a win in the nine-year-old girls' 25m breaststroke.

Broadway members also recorded a number of second places with Adam Guild only just missing out on victory in the nine-year-old breaststroke.

Jenson Proctor was within a whisker of striking gold in the 11-year boys' backstroke.

George Pattinson finished second in the 11-year boys' breaststroke, as did Matthias Henry in the 12-year-old boy's butterfly and freestyle.

There were also runner's-up spots for Alex Fisher in the 11-year girls' freestyle and Chloe Mallon in the nine-years butterfly.

Millie Harmon, Isabel Clarke, Emily Matthews, Courtney Bleakley, Amber Catley and Natalia Tura meanwhile all recorded personal bests.

Broadway are currently looking for new members to strengthen their team, with all abilities welcome.
