Ludlow Stadium teamed up with Shrewsbury Town in the Community and have been handed a £99,335 grant by the Premier League & FA Facilities Fund.

The funding will go towards improvements to the ground, which is used by a number of local junior and senior clubs.

Chief executive Paul Thorogood said: "This development will provide a real boost to sport in the local area."

Specific areas of maintenance to be improved are work on the existing clubhouse and on the current 3G surface.

New maintenance machinery will also be secured as well as storage at the Ludlow base.

The funding has also gone towards a new football development officer, who will aid the delivery of the club's five-year development performance plan.

Thorogood added: "We are helping to improve community sports facilities across the country and thereby the playing experiences of those taking part."
