The 13-year-old won the Pony of the Year 138cm Grand Prix at Bury Farm Equestrian Village.

The event, hosted in Slapton, Buckinghamshire, was held over four days and attracted participants from up and down the country.

Sutton, from Whitchurch, also won the leading rider award as she secured first place on board 18-year-old Shutter Fly, owned by her mother Jacqueline.

She produced three perfect rounds, going around the final jump-off in just 39.91 seconds to secure victory.

Sutton said: "He's incredible. I didn't think we could go that fast. It's thanks to my trainer Geoff Billington and my mum, she does everything at home."

Sutton will now be looking ahead to her Hickstead debut in June. Shutter Fly is one of three rides she has qualified on.

Sutton will also appear with Robe Ruadh, who she rode to success in a Royal International Horse Show qualifier, and Fast Fun.

She earned a place at Hickstead with Fast Fun and Shutter Fly earlier this year through the Pony Premier Circuit.
