The powerful forward first joined in 2002 and moved on to play for both Chester City and Fleetwood Town before returning.

During his second spell with the club, Wilde scored a landmark 150th Welsh Premier League goal during a 4-1 victory against Newtown.

The achievement is all the more impressive when you consider that the 150 League goals came in only 210 starts.

He also managed to score a famous hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League against Faroese Champions, B36 Torshavn, becoming the first ever player in the Welsh League to score a Champions League hat-trick.

Wilde was an integral part of the side during his time with TNS and helped The Saints to successive domestic trebles in his last two seasons with the club.

Wilde said: "I have loads of fond memories with TNS, in the Champions League – scoring in Europe, playing against Liverpool and Manchester City, but also all the goals that have led to us winning the league over the years too."

TNS manager Craig Harrison added: "I wish Mike Wilde all the luck in the world and would like to thank him for all he has done for the club."

"He has been an excellent professional on and off the pitch and a real talisman over the last four years. "He has scored lots of important goals and is and will always be a TNS legend, up there with Scott Ruscoe and Steve Evans.'
