The showdown for silverware against Packwood Haugh took place at Shrewsbury School with Prestfelde securing an impressive five-wicket success.

Packwood batted first in the 25-overs per side clash and, after the loss of two early wickets, they were indebted to 35 from Louis Graham.

Useful contributions from George Hughes (15) and Jack Yeoward (16 not out) boosted them to 121 all out, in the face of some fine bowling and fielding.

The Prestfelde reply got off to a similar start to Packwood's as they lost early wickets.

But they recovered in some style with Harry Slater (27), Will Taylor (21) and a mature unbeaten 30 from Jack Home seeing them to victory.

Prestfelde, who beat Thomas Telford and Wrekin College on their way to the final, will now represent Shropshire in next year's National Under-13 competition.

Medals were presented to both teams by veteran Shropshire cricketer and umpire Alan Kynaston.
