They beat visitors Wellington by 18 runs in the final at Heath Road to win the county-wide tournament, which is open to under-10 teams.

Competition rules see both teams start with 200 runs, with each pair of batsmen at the crease for four overs.

Runs made are added to the total, but teams lose runs for any wickets which fall.

Batting first, Whitchurch scored 284-6, with Wilf Peers and Alex Heath adding 31 in their four overs and Freddie Timmis and George Owen 24 in theirs.

In reply, they restricted Wellington to 266-8 with the wickets shared around and some excellent fielding.

Former county under-10 manager-coach Bob Anderson presented the winner's trophy and the medals.
