The event was hosted by Market Drayton Motocross Club, with the majority of their 22 members featured at an event which saw several titles put on the line.

For the experts' MX1 crown, Sam Smith looked set to win when he crossed the finish line first in the first three races.

However, Smith had to pull out of the fourth and final race leaving his 150-point total score vulnerable to the remaining competitors.

In the end James Angel pipped Joe Higgins by just one point, 180 to 179, even though Higgins had finished fourth in the final race ahead of his rival.

Jamie Ashbrook fought back for the experts' MX2 title against four others after coming back from an initial fourth-place finish in the first race to win the remaining three, finishing 13 points clear of Harrison Buckley.

In the 85cc inter juniors Finlay James dominated, winning all four races and clocking up a total of 200 points on the day.

Jayden Rodgers finished second overall with 182 and Ben Dutton a close third on 180 points.

In the other inter juniors class, the 65cc, Travis James picked up the maximum 200 points to take the victory.

Among the seniors, James Harrison reeled off four second places to finish ahead of David Studholme and Adam Mobbs in the MX1, while Tim Higgins was crowned the champion of MX2 ahead of Jamie Wotton and Dylan Brockbank.

Mark Bill took home the accolade in the juniors MX1 class as he picked up 192 points, five ahead of Stuart Ratcliffe with Dean White third.

In juniors MX2, two wins from three races for Louis Smith left him top with 143 points. Keelan Pitchford was three behind in second with Jordan Jones third.
