The match kicks off at 3pm at the Greenhous Meadow on Oteley Road.

Despite taking to social media to warn fans not to use flares or pyrotechnics, the force said there is no intelligence to suggest there will be disorder.

Chief Inspector Sean Kent said: “We will have a proportionate policing operation in place for Shrewsbury Town’s game against Coventry City on Saturday.

“The policing plan has been implemented as a precaution. There is no intelligence to suggest any disruption.

“We are aware of the use of flares at previous football matches and are warning fans attending this game that flares or pyrotechnics will not be tolerated.

"A robust searching operation will be conducted at the ground.”
