Agony for Holly Mowling in Clay Court Championships
Bridgnorth Tennis Club coach Holly Mowling lost in the final of the British Open Clay Court Championships yesterday.
In the 35-plus category, the long-serving Shropshire ladies skipper lost 6-1, 6-3 to Debbie-Louise Hale.
Mowling, who lives in Broseley and has won four top national titles within the last 12 months on the International Tennis Federation over-35s circuit, beat Greece’s Ariadne Katsoulis and fellow Brit Claire Raddan on her way to the final.
She also competed with Raddan in the doubles event at West Hants Club, Bournemouth, and lost in the semi-finals.
