The 23-year-old is enjoying a fine 2017 and featured in a 3-3 draw with Argentina yesterday, and a 7-3 win over Malaysia on Saturday.

Following on from a 2-0 win against China in their opening Pool A fixture, England lead the way in the five-strong group with seven points and have already sealed a quarter-final spot.

Their final group game at the event, which serves as a qualifier for the 2018 World Cup in India and runs through until Sunday, is against Korea.

Against Argentina, goals from Mark Gleghorne, Sam Ward and Barry Middleton saw England race into a 3-0 lead before half-time

Within just six minutes of the restart though, Argentina drew level thanks to a Gonzalo Peillat brace, either side of a Matias Paredes strike.

At one point against Malaysia, England were drawing 2-2 but managed five quick-fire goals to pull away, before a late consolation from the Malaysians.

Gleghorne, Ward and Middleton were also in fine form in that game too, grabbing a brace of goals each. Christopher Griffiths got England’s other goal.

Goodfield, who progressed through Telford’s junior ranks and now plays for London-based Surbiton, earlier this year helped England claim the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.
